The Fringe Effect

Well I know I had said I was gonna blog daily while I was in Europe, but the way my immune system is set up, being sick ruined all that lol. One day I'll do what I say I'm gonna do, I mean well, I actually believe myself sometimes. Anyway, this was such a fun day in Paris.

Shirt: H&M / Skirt: Vintage from Fran / Jacket: Thrifted / Bag: Vintage from Fran / Shoes: Zara

There were so many great things about this day I really don't know where to begin. We met some great people and really just enjoyed the scene. I was so excited to see the Louvre and it was just as amazing as I thought it would be. I'm gonna post a few photos I took inside later this week. If you ever go to Paris you have to see it for yourself. It's unreal how beautiful it is.

Everything I planned to wear was modified because of the weather. Thank goodness I swung by H&M and grabbed a few basics, this tee matched perfectly with my vintage skirt. And I basically wore this camel jacket everyday, it goes with everything and is so comfy.

Being that I was traveling overseas for the first time, I thought I was packing smart. I packed so many things I didn't need I wanted to smack myself for it by the end of my trip. I wore these shoes with almost every outfit too. Which means the 4 other pair I brought were a waste of space! Some of you guys told me to pack light too, definitely learned a thing or two about traveling the hard way.

I love this photo of Trish, Monroe, and I!!! We're serving Sex and the City realness for ya'lll haha, well minus one. It was crazy to see some of the bloggers and street style stars I'm use to seeing online, in person. Everyone we met was really cool too. I love that, it's always weird for me when people recognize me on the street. I don't think I'll ever get use to that, I'll also never not take time out to chat and show appreciation to you guys because I luhhhh ya. It's nice to know that some of the top bloggers are that way as well.

It's funny because I always go back and forth on my view of fashion week. After a few years of going to NYFW, I honestly was over the whole scene. It's not always as glamorous as it seems. Don't get me wrong I've had some amazing experiences during fashion week, but ya'll know I keeps is real on this blog...Getting into shows is part hustle and part doing your research. And just like with everything else in the world it has it's fair share of politics involved. For me, fashion isn't really about knowing every designer and I'm not big on name brands. So going to fashion week for me is educational, I didn't go to school for fashion so looking at composition and seeing designs hit the runway is like a class for me. Now that I've been to Paris fashion week the experience helped me understand what it is I love most about fashion week in general.

Street Style is what will keep me coming to fashion week. Seeing how attendees put together looks is so inspiring. It probably stems from the fact that I'm a people watcher but even the personality people exude while being photographed speaks to me. Street style definitely influences how I put looks together and encourages me to be more free and push the limits when it comes to my personal style.

Anyway, I mentioned earlier that we met some really cool people. We ran into Claire of Fashion Bomb Daily's photographer David Nyanzi. He was so awesome and his street style photos are incredible. He snapped a few shots for us and captured some great moments. He took this pic of me as well as the picture of us three. I mean the leg action going on right here is serious :) I had to shout that out because all that Paris walking has my legs looking right haha.

I was so comfortable in front of his lens. I usually don't smile much in pictures because my fake smile is horrible. I actually have to be laughing to get an authentic smile, but he had me twirling for the girls and everything...it was great, I really had fun! I think Paris has helped me be a little more free in front of the camera.

Because I have so many pictures to share, I'll be posting in threes to share as much as I can with you guys. Hopefully you won't get sick of it, but you might haha xoxo.
