Pretty In Pink
Pretty In Pink

Not only is Pretty in Pink one of my favorite movies of all time, I can totally relate to Andie (Molly Ringwald) when her dad gave her that marvelous pink thrifted dress for prom. Albeit my story isn’t quite as touching as the scene from the movie, I’m wearing mine with just as much pride as Andie did at prom. One of my favorite wardrobe hacks is wearing dresses as tops. I mean who doesn’t like versatility?

I’ll never be the gal who spends tons of money on clothes. Especially because I’m a sucker for one of a kind finds. I never fail at finding epic shit thrifting which further fuels my addiction. Even though I never have links for you guys to shop. I encourage you to thrift and be creative in how you repurpose things you already own.

I found this bomb bathrobe which added the finishing touch to this all pink look. Now, I’m usually not into pink but I’m majorly into texture. I hosted a shopping event at Reddz Trading a while back and found this BCBG skirt for a steal. It was about 9 bucks but besides the price, I love the thread-like texture of it.

In typical me fashion, my best outfits come together when I’m pressed for time, that’s when I’m most creative. Doing the numbers, my thrifted/consignment grand total for this look was 19 bucks. $5 bathrobe, $5 silk dress, $9 skirt, we’ll leave out the shoes even though I got them on major sale at Barneys. I must say I feel like a million bucks and didn’t even spend a Jackson.

Sidebar, I had an amazing Mother’s Day, I was surprised with a sewing machine which I’m really excited about. I never find clothes I like shopping retail, so I’m very much excited to get behind the sewing machine again and create my own clothes.
