So my plan was to wait until the new year to get rid of my hair, but of course once I got that itch I couldn’t wait that long. I go through these periods of growing out my hair but what never fails is at some point I get tired of it and cut it off. This is not a big chop situation because I don’t really feel that attached to my hair. Alicia, my stylist, and I were talking about how we cut our hair off in high school many moons ago. I vividly remember asking my sister to cut it off one day when I was in 10th grade for the same reasons I did this time around. Like Sweet Brown said, ain’t nobody got time fa that,” that’s how I’m feeling about getting up and worrying about my hair. A sista just wanted something low maintenance!!
Anyway, my boo Trisha was home for the holidays and was kind enough to snap these pics of me over the weekend. I love that I have friends who are amazing multitalented people, none of my friends are one trick pony’s. Which makes a lot of sense, but anyway I love shooting with Trish, reminds me of the old days when we were seriously about that blogging life. Rain, sleet, snow, or hail we were in these streets shooting. Ahhhhh the good old days LOL. But hey, we’ve evolved and have expanded ourselves so these days blogging is much more of a balancing act. But I’m getting here as often as I can.
Anyway, let’s talk about the hat and belt situation going on in these photos. There was an estate sale literally across the street from my house, I was in there every other day as I probably mentioned here or on my Insta story. People cleaned up in there including myself, I literally got the guy’s number who ran the estate sale. He’s the plug, I’ll be at all his sales, the gems I took home are insane. This belt is crazy and long story short I’m obsessed with it, I’ve honestly never seen anything like it the detail is insane. When I cut my hair my first thought was lawd will this hat still fit...and why yes, yes it does!
One of my rules of thumb is buy things that I can wear a million ways. This look is a cardigan worn backwards I’m wearing over a vintage Tadashi velvet dress. Versatility for me basically means oversized. I like having room to tuck a dresses in, belt things, and layer…with tight clothes you definitely get less wear in my opinion. I even have mastered layering in warmer months without sweating to death which took a little imagination. There’s something so magical about layers and texture, tight clothes on me at times look cheap even when it’s expensive, maybe it’s just my eye that says that but I have to always find the right tight, yes the right tight is a thing for me LOL.
In other news really soon I’ll be sharing some news I’m really excited about, I’m always excited about something right LOL, I can’t help myself! But really this one is a pretty big deal for me because it’s all about serving other women so we can help each other WIN!!! It’s going to be a big commitment for me and I can’t wait to share it with you. Hopefully I’ll get to meet some of you personally soon (if I haven’t already)!!
